Walks near the holiday cottages
Walk 1: Abbotsham to Greencliff
1-1.5 hours, easy, approx 1 mile on country lanes
Abbotsham is about 10 mins drive from Hallsannery Cottages
Park on the road outside Abbotsham Court. Follow the footpath
sign to the right and then turn left over a stile. Follow this
path over one more stile and then turn down to the right towards
the coast path. Go over a stile and turn left towards Clovelly.
Walk along the coast path for about ˝ mile, cross a bridge and
there is a footpath going up to the left to Greencliff. Follow
this path to a farm track over several stiles, turn left there
and then straight on where it joins the road. Pass a few houses
and when the road starts to go up a hill after about 50metres
there is a footpath to your left over fields. Follow this and it
takes a turn to the right over a stile. After a while you cross
over a
idge and join the road again Turn left on the road and
then left again at a T junction and you’re back at your car.
Abbotsham Cliffs is a great place to watch the sunset, take a
picnic or some fish and chips! Both Greencliff and Abbotsham are
good for rockpooling on a low tide. There is a pub (The Thatch
Inn) in Abbotsham if you fancy a drink after your walk.
