Holiday accommodation
in the grounds of an early Victorian country house estate with 50 acres of gardens, parkland, woodland and pasture close to Bideford in North Devon.  The three cottages are are available to rent throughout the year.  Hallsannery also runs one day courses on subjects from felt making to life story writing - why not combine your holiday with a
course?

The Coachman's Cottage and Chauffeurs Flat are adjacent and  in the coach house at the rear of the main house -  one cottage sleeps 5 (+cot), and one sleeps 2, and they can be also rented as a single unit. Short rentals are possible out of the high season.

The whole Estate of 50 acres is located 1 mile from Bideford and has extensive views from the grounds over the River Torridge

The beach at Westward Ho!
Bideford is an excellent centre for touring with shops, restaurants, the Kathleen and May and Burton Art Gallery. The boat to Lundy Island sails regularly from Bideford.

The South West coastal path can be accessed at Westward Ho! and various points along the coast.

The Tarka Trail has 30 miles of cycling through countryside and estuary, there is an entrance half a mile from Hallsannery. If you are feeling energetic, cycle up the Torridge valley to Yarde Orchard cafe, 4 miles South of Torrington, or Fremington Quay cafe along the Taw estuary.

The fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, with its safe sandy beach, both great places for a meal or a wander.

Within 30 minutes drive..
Great Torrington: the home of Dartington Crystal and the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Rosemoor.
Braunton Burrows:
a six mile by two mile sand dune system, and the core of the UNESCO Biosphere reserve is 15 miles away. 

Hartland Quay: spectacular cliff scenery on the wild Atlantic coast with cliff walks and a pub.
