Sustainability at Hallsannery

Recycling
Hallsannery recycles drinks cans, food cans, glass, plastics, batteries and paper and composts vegetable waste where appropriate. Recycling bins are available.
For rubbish which is not recyclable, black bin liners made from a bio-degradable plastic are supplied whenever possible.

Lighting
Low energy light bulbs are used throughout. Electricity supplies are on an EDF Green tariff sourced from renewables.

Composting
Compost bins are available in the garden and small bins in the holiday cottages themselves.

Drying clothes
Ample washing line space, both undercover and in the garden is provided for air drying of clothes. There are no tumble driers in the cottages as these represent an unacceptable use of energy.

Electrical appliances
Guests are encouraged to turn all appliances off at the mains, rather than leave on standby.
